I
N MAY 2015 BRADKEN
consolidated three of
its Australian headquartered
Businesses into a single
new Division – the Mining &
Transport Division.
With challenges that arose through
ongoing weakness in commodity and
mineral markets, and shared opportunities
for expansion into global markets, the
former GET & Buckets, Crawler Systems
and Transport & Industrial Products
businesses have been consolidated in
an effort to improve profitability and
maximise the substantial long term
opportunities that exist for their collective
product range.
With a large number of common customers
and a shared manufacturing base, the
new Division has a single organisational
structure that draws together the people
and systems in Sales & Marketing, Product
Development, Manufacturing and Supply
Chain & Logistics to best satisfy the needs
of customers through the development,
supply and support of products that deliver
substantial value to their operations.
To facilitate the change, Brad Ward has
been appointed Executive General Manager
of the new Division. Based at Bradken’s
Global Corporate Centre in Newcastle,
Australia, he is ably supported by a senior
management team that brings together the
energy, skills and experience necessary
to effectively lead the Division through a
restructuring period focused on improved
performance and development of long term
plans, and then into a new phase of growth
enacting those plans. Brad has been tasked
with transforming the new Division along
similar lines to the Mineral Processing
Division that he previously headed up.
“Our principle approach will be one of
customer satisfaction,” Brad explains.
“The core Bradken business model of selling
and supporting products close to our
customers had originally been employed
in the Australian market and was proven
by the Mineral Processing Division to
be equally as effective in overseas key
mining regions. This model will be just as
applicable for Mining & Transport Division
customers around the world.
“While change is often uncomfortable, this
consolidation is critical for Bradken’s long
term success and I ask all employees to
support the new organisational structures
and roll-out of new initiatives as they occur.”
