Doug Swick started his career at Bradken’s
Tacoma, Washington foundry in February
1976 as a Grinder.  Soon after he was
transferred to the Inspection department
and in 1979 he was promoted to the
position of Lead for Inspection.
In December 1978 Pam Baer began
working at the Tacoma foundry as a
Microfilm Clerk before moving into the role
of Metal Lab Clerk, and eventually
transferring into the Quality Department.
Doug and Pam met while working at the
foundry and the rest, as they say, is history.
The two were married in 1988 and have
together enjoyed a career at the foundry
spanning a combined 76 years.
At the time of their retirement, Doug was
the Finishing Expeditor overseeing one bay
of the Finishing Department and acting as a
liaison between Production Control and
the Finishing Department. Pam was a
Quality Control Assistant coordinating all
of the required paperwork, necessary
certifications, and customer specifications
for shipping for the Tacoma foundry’s
military and energy customers.
Doug and Pam Swick retired together on
July 6, 2015. From all at Bradken we wish
the Swicks and all our recently retired
colleagues all the best for a happy and
enjoyable retirement.
