new foundry
Already a major contributor
to Bradken; the Xuzhou
facility has produced over
1,200 rail wagons and a
countless amount of sub
components for wagons
since its opening in 2007.
A world class wear parts
foundry is planned for the
Xuzhou site.
Construction is due for
completion in January
2012 with the first castings
produced in March of the
same year. Employment
of staff for this new phase
of the facility has already
commenced. Once fully
operational the foundry will
employ 400 people and
produce 40,000 tonnes of low
alloy steel and manganese
alloy steel, using an electric
arc furnace.
Swathed in red the Xuzhou facility celebrated the commencement
of the construction of Bradken’s latest foundry. Bradken’s board of
directors and senior management, local staff and local government
officials joined together to break ground on 20 July 2010.
