This is the second acquisition for
the Fixed Plant Business in 2011,
following the addition of Wear
Protect Systems into the Bradken
fold in June.
The arrangement provides
significant manufacturing synergies
with the Business, enabling extra
capacity and technology that can
be leveraged across the existing
Bradken plants.
Bradken General Manager Fixed
Plant, Craig Lee, said that the
complementary nature of this
acquisition will not only provide
technological benefits, but will
also facilitate expected growth
within the Fixed Plant Business.
“AOA has for a long time been a
proven quality supplier of cladplate
throughout both the domestic and
global markets. Over the years it
has progressed into a technology
leader in both material and
manufacturing techniques,”
Craig said.
“The acquisition provides Bradken
with an east coast cladplate supply
facility that will assist in the
anticipated Fixed Plant growth
in this area. It also brings with it
an opportunity to leverage the high
level of process control that is in-
built into the proprietary machines
which provides both a more
efficient and consistent process.”
Specialising in the manufacture
of abrasion resisting materials for
world markets, and with sales in
more than 25 countries, AOA
began operating in January 1988.
Its major products include pre-
deposited abrasion resisting plate,
AOA MK1, AOA MK2 and AOA
MK3 chromium carbide clad
wear plate.
The company operates 24 hours
a day from its facility in Unanderra,
a suburb in Wollongong NSW.
The Management Team includes:
Paul Christie –
Manufacturing Manager
Damian Pedersen –
