Thanks to the train density
of the ‘Cyclone’ Wagon,
Pacific National is reaping
the rewards of being able
to carry 600 tonnes of
coal per train more than
its closest competitor.
Bradken was commissioned
by Pacific National to design
the wagon after the rail
haulage operator won a
contract in the competitive
Queensland market.
Innovative engineering and
design meant Bradken was
able to produce a wagon
with superior train density
to any of Pacific National’s
competitors in the
Queensland market.
Additionally, the wagon can
be run in consists of up to
126 wagons with three
electric or four diesel
locomotives in a distributed
power configuration, with a
payload of around 10,500
tonnes per trip.
