The recent expansion of Bradken’s Hunter Valley Mining
Services facility, located in Mt Thorley, New South Wales, has
amplified the Company’s investment in the region taking our
offering to local customers to a new level.
Bradken has been proudly servicing
mine sites in the Hunter Valley region
from its Mt Thorley facility for some 25
years. In order to support the Company’s
continued growth in the region, the
ongoing demand from our regional
customers for mining consumables
and the success of the Company’s new
range of Ground Engaging Tools (GET),
Buckets and Rigging products, Bradken
committed a significant capex investment
early in 2011 to expand the facility and
provide the capacity necessary to enable
us to offer a truly full service, or ‘One Stop
Shop’ offering.
The expansion included the construction
of a new sales and administration office,
a 324 square metre paint blast shed
and a purpose built 1,134 square metre
workshop equipped with the latest
technology and state of the art equipment,
including an 80 tonne overhead crane
and an inbuilt rail system for transferring
buckets and bodies to and from the
workshop and paint shed, allowing
Bradken to handle the largest dragline and
excavator buckets in the region (including
P&H9020 dragline buckets and CAT797
Truck Trays), the maintenance of which is
a necessity for local mining customers.
With all but the finishing touches
completed on the project, the facilities
capabilities now include:
