Technological
developments
over
the past thirty years have drastically
changed the way we do almost
everything on both a personal and
professional level and this has had an
unavoidable impact on the workplace
environment. The introduction of the
Internet, email, and mobile devices has
undoubtedly led to increasedworkplace
productivity, but at the same time has
made abuse of workplace technology
a serious concern for employers and
employees alike.
Business is no longer limited to a
physical ‘office’ space; with a laptop, a
smart phone and Wi-Fi, the ‘office’ is
wherever you are. As such the onus
is on the individual to understand
what is expected of them with regard
to equipment, software, Internet and
email use.
Bradkenencourages the responsibleuse
of Company owned IT and Resources
by outlining the ‘dos and don’ts’ of
acceptable use and the implications of
misuse in the IT and Resources Use
Policy. The policy document is available
to all Bradken employees via Paradigm
and contains English, Chinese, French
Canadian and Spanish language
translations.
All Bradken employees are required to
become familiar with this policy.
Know your responsibilities.
