It’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea time again! On May 24 a number of our Australian sites took a break and grabbed some cake to help raise vital funds for the Cancer Council.
The numbers tell us that 1 in 2 Aussie men and 1 in 3 Aussie women are expected to be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. An estimated 130,470 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in Australia alone this year.
Chief Executive Officer Simon Linge said these statistics meant that most of Bradken’s Australian employees would be affected by cancer in some way, during their lifetime.
“This is a cause that will unfortunately affect most of our people in one way or another, either personally or through a community or family connection,” Simon said.
“What better way to acknowledge this issue and show our support than by banding together and supporting this year’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.”
Last year participating sites in New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia raised $2,800 to help fund cancer research, prevention programs and support services.
