Dee Dantuluri, Global Recruitment Lead from Brisbane, Australia

A recruitment powerhouse and leader with heart.

A former radio jockey and actor, Dee believes that your life experiences and the roles you play in life enrich the value you bring. When she’s not at work leading our recruitment team, she is running a side hustle, constantly learning something new and brimming full of ideas.

At the heart of Dee’s recruitment philosophy sits the belief that people bring value as their whole self. When asked to describe her role Dee says “I meet people and get to know them and their story, beyond the education and experience that’s on their resume, to understand the value they bring. I then get to match them to roles they’re suited to and where they can make a difference and impact.”

What she loves about working at Bradken is: “I can fearlessly be my unfiltered self! I mean all parts of my identity from my Aussie side to the Indian home remedies for a sore throat.” She shared that this has been her experience from the moment she interviewed for her role.
“I’d often been advised to remove my past non-recruitment work experiences from my resume, but I cherish those experiences. In my interview for this job, my manager was the first person ever to ask me ‘I see you used to work as a radio jockey, tell me more about that.’ She understood that all my life experiences played a role in shaping my personality and the value I bring.
"My past experiences gave me the skills I needed to be good with people, communicate confidently and value people’s diverse perspectives. She believed in my potential just as my team and I often believe in the potential of the candidates we get to know through our recruitment process.”

Speak and be heard

Dee sees the people her team has recruited into Bradken thrive because of their mindset and drive. “The assumptions that can hold people back from applying for certain roles sometimes, despite them having the capability, is that you need particular exposure or experience to apply for a job in manufacturing.”

She believes that if you ask questions and are willing to learn, there are many opportunities to learn and grow at Bradken. “My experience has been that my ideas are always heard. And the ones that might not work, we discuss why without judgement.” She attributes some of her candor to speak up to the environment created by an approachable leadership team.

quote

What I tell candidates through the recruitment process is if you’re willing to try new things, continuously learn and collaborate to share ideas, Bradken is the place for you. You won’t hear 'we do it that way because that’s how we’ve always done it' here.

- Dee Dantuluri
What Dee appreciates about the people at Bradken is that they are passionate about what they do and dedicated to meeting their customers’ needs exceptionally. It’s not unusual to see big service milestones for people’s work anniversaries every month. “What I tell candidates through the recruitment process is if you’re willing to try new things, continuously learn and collaborate to share ideas, Bradken is the place for you. You won’t hear 'we do it that way because that’s how we’ve always done it' here.”
To be global leaders in wear solutions for the resources sector, our people are constantly innovating and problem solving. Openness to change and challenge is what has allowed Dee to get involved many projects that in a traditionally rigid organisation she would not have had the opportunity to be a part of.
When asked what she’s excited about Dee said, “We have been going through some truly exciting transformations about how we see people and processes to ensure we leverage the proud legacy of the last 100 years of Bradken’s history for the journey ahead of us.”
