Bradken has recently increased its support to the Mining industry in Australia’s East Coast with its new logistics facility opened at the Port of Brisbane.
This new logistics facility will support improved delivery and freight cost efficiencies by capitalising on key transport hubs such as Brisbane’s Airport, Shipping port and main arterial highways..
Located at the Port of Brisbane the new facility, is Bradken’s largest on Australia’s East Coast and allows Bradken to integrate container loading and unloading on site which will reduce lead times to customers as the process can be managed on one site. Further lead time benefits will be realised due to the facilities close proximity to main arterial roadways and transport hubs enabling direct and efficient management of product dispatch to customers..
Bradken’s Logistics Operations Manager, Shaun Suitor noted, ‘this purpose designed warehouse facility is a key milestone in our overall global warehousing strategy, preparing for future growth and will enable the consolidation of Bradken’s Australian East Coast warehouse footprint.
This strategy will allow the teams to manage and improve transport and logistic efficiencies in dispatching products to customers from one location. The close proximity of key transport hubs, the larger facility and expanded capabilities, along with the adoption of new processes will support our improved logistical process, now and into the future to better support our customers operations.
Our teams are focused on providing our customers with optimised, efficient and compliant transport and storage capabilities to support their operations.’
As part of the new warehouse operations, a new streamlined supply chain process is being adopted to manage product delivery with automated processing and material handling capabilities.
Bradken has also been recognised and awarded Australian Trusted Trader accreditation as a mark of distinction, this accreditation is independently assessed and accredited against
World Customs Organization standards and allows Bradken to deliver cost and export/import efficiencies.
The logistics facility includes a warehouse space of 4,500 sqm, with a hardstand area of 1,500 sqm, this capacity will facilitate the storage of products for Express Rail, Crawler Systems, Ground Engaging Tools (GET) and Mineral processing components that range from small GET Pins and Rail Couplers to Cast Lips weighing over 8,000kgs.
The additional capacity will sustain continued growth in the resources sector, allowing Bradken to expand its supply chain capability to increase product storage and managing product that is readily available for customer’s requirements in time sensitive situations.
The new logistic facility is located at Warehouse 4 6 Osprey Drive, Port of Brisbane.
