Bradken and Bengalla Unite to Support "Where There's a Will" Charity
Showcasing a shared commitment to their local community, Bradken has partnered with Bengalla Mining Company to support "Where There's a Will," an Upper Hunter charity committed to promoting mental health awareness and education throughout the community.
Representatives from Bradken attended the Bengalla site, near Muswellbrook, for the unveiling of a HitachiEH5000 mining haul truck tray, refurbished and custom painted in support of the charity at our Mount Thorley workshop in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
Bradken has operated in the Hunter Valley for 30 of its 102 years and over that time has developed strong and enduring relationships within the region’s mining community.
Sean Winstone, Bradken CEO, said the company’s commitment to supporting organisations like “Where There’s a Will” included a community grant program driven by employee applications, resulting in a combined $6,000 donation from Bradken and Bengalla.
“Bradken has a proud history of helping our local communities - it’s always been an important part of our DNA and in the past year alone we’ve been able to support more than 30 different community organisations whose work focuses on health, education and the environment,” Mr Winstone said.
“We know this support is strengthened when it’s done in partnership with other like-minded organisations so we’re thankful for the opportunity to reinforce our decade-long partnership with the team at Bengalla by joining them in supporting “Where There’s a Will” and their mission to bring positive change in the mental health space.
This sentiment was echoed by the team at Bengalla with Maintenance Manager, John Campbell stating: "Bengalla recognises the impact that poor mental health has on family, friends, and our local community. Any initiative that seeks to drive a positive change in this space is something that Bengalla has always, and will always, support.
“Like many initiatives, they are always better when completed in partnership - Bengalla have a long relationship with Bradken and it is genuinely humbling to be able to jointly support a local charity focused on positive change in the mental health of our local community. We look forward to many more years of partnership with Bradken and Where There’s a Will."
Where There’s a Will is dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing within our community through positive education programs. Their programs and initiatives provide essential support and resources to children and families, fostering a stronger, healthier community for everyone.
Pauline Carrigan, Where There’s a Will Founder and Project Lead, said she was grateful for the local support.
“Financial support from local businesses such as Bradken and Bengalla aligns with the Where There’s a Will charity ethic of keeping our funding local and will help us as we work to create a mentally fit community.”
