Decent Work and Economic Growth

Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

At Bradken, we’re committed to creating a workplace that is safe, equitable, and provides growth opportunities for the communities that we work in.

Part of our Gender Equity focus involves setting up systems that enable mothers and parents to return to the workforce after children and so they can continue to develop their careers.

We strive for world-class safety performance, and our safety program connects people with the reasons for being safe – their families friends and loved ones, and their continued ability to do things they like outside of work.

Bradken Initiatives:
  • Creating local employment opportunities and economic growth by hiring locally
  • Introducing “Keeping in Touch Days” to enable employees globally on parental leave to keep in touch with their employment to facilitate a smooth return at the end of the leave period.
  • Continued review of global salaries to ensure gender pay parity.
  • Regular reviews and updates of our Safety Management Systems, including the implementation of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety and ISO 45003 Psychological Health and Safety and Work.
  • Establishing supplier expectations through the Bradken Supplier Code of Conduct and raising awareness of modern slavery throughout the global Bradken supply chain.
  • Modern Slavery Awareness Training for global employees that have responsibilities for supplier interactions.
  • Regular apprenticeship intakes to increase the skills of young people.
