Coimbatore Achieves First Month of 100% Renewable Electricity

For the month of June, all electricity at our Coimbatore foundry was from 100% renewable sources. This is the first time we've reached this milestone, using both wind and solar energy obtained through our power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Continuum Green Energy Group in 2024 and Enerparc AG Group in 2022.

While the amount of renewables varies each month depending on power generated through available wind and sun, Bradken Coimbatore is on track for an annual total of 85% renewable electricity; our highest year to date.

Procurement of renewable energy is one pillar of our Carbon Neutral Roadmap which also includes site upgrades, equipment electrification and operational efficiency improvements. We are both reducing the energy used to create our products and electrifying gas and diesel powered equipment to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

This achievement is one more step towards Bradken’s goal of becoming carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
