Gold Mine Revolver Skirt Liner System
Location
Perth Region, Western Australia
Conditions
High Abrasion or Hard Rock
Situation
A gold mine was facing operational challenges due to confined space requirements for liner change-outs, which posed serious safety risks. The use of ceramic skirt liners led to premature failures, increasing downtime and costs. Additionally, the liners were non-standardised, complicating maintenance procedures. The guarding system in place did not meet the AS4024.3610 safety compliance standards.
Solution
Bradken introduced the Revolver Skirt System to address these issues. This system allows liner change-outs to be performed externally, eliminating the need for confined space access. It features standardised liner arrangements and uses 32mm Duablock skirt liners for enhanced durability. The system also includes adjustable liner height to suit varying operational needs.
Results
The implementation significantly improved safety by removing confined space entry requirements. Maintenance costs were reduced due to longer-lasting liners and simplified replacement procedures. The wear life of the liners was extended, improving overall operational efficiency. The new guarding system met the AS4024.3610 compliance standards, ensuring regulatory adherence.
