Updating Our Carbon Neutral Baseline

Bradken’s carbon neutral project, CN2030, has been underway since 2021 with our first announcement at the beginning of 2022. Previously we took our emissions baseline from 2012 data, however to improve our accuracy we will now be utilising a 2018 baseline instead, as we work towards carbon neutrality by 2030.

We are making two changes to our reporting:

Although our goal is to be carbon neutral for scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, we are also starting to include data on scope 3, our supply chain, to provide a more accurate and in-depth picture of our total carbon emissions.

The business has developed a bold, yet achievable roadmap to get to carbon neutral by 2030. Some data may look different to what we’ve previously reported, but the actual tCO2e saved at each of our sites is still the same. Our end result will be the same, and the updated targets, baselines and predictions make our reporting more accurate.

Renewable energy technology is rapidly advancing, and we now have a better understanding of affordability and accessibility. We also have a clearer picture of Bradken’s global operations for the next 5 years. The industry is dynamic and we will stay agile so that we can accurately track progress and adapt to new technology as it becomes available.
