DuraTuf

DuraTuf grades are austenitic manganese steels developed to the general requirements of standards ASTM A128 Grade B-2, B-3, C or E-1 and AS 2074 H1A, H1B or H1C. The selected DuraTuf grade will be application specific. DuraTuf has excellent impact resistance and work hardening capabilities.

Applications
Used in the mineral processing industries in applications such as:
  • Crusher Mantles and Concaves
  • Jaw Crushers
Mechanical and Physical Properties
Weldability of DuraTuf is fair. The instructions of the welding consumable manufacturer should be strictly followed.
DuraTuf is non-magnetic. The mechanical properties of DuraTuf are dependent on the extent of work hardening that occurs in service.
Inspection Standards
DuraTuf components are inspected to internal Bradken procedures in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards, or to customer nominated specifications as agreed at time of order.
Typical inspection processes for DuraTuf components include:
  • Chemical analysis using spectrometry
  • Dimensional gauging of component
  • Visual inspection of surface finish
Microstructure
Optimum fracture toughness and gouging wear resistance is achieved by subjecting DuraTuf components to an austenitising heat treatment to provide a microstructure of work hardened, equiaxed austenite grains with minimal grain boundary carbide precipitation.
